Décor is often one of the later decisions couples make, after the venue, the photographer and the caterer. Yet it shapes how every space looks and feels, and the most in-demand dates book up early. A clear timeline helps you secure your date and leaves room for the design to develop properly.
Nine to twelve months before
Once your venue and date are confirmed, start speaking to décor companies. Summer weekends and the busiest months of the wedding season are the first to go, so for those dates earlier is better. At this stage you only need a sense of the events, the venues and the feeling you want.
Six to nine months before
This is when the design takes shape: mood boards, colour palettes, layouts and a clear, itemised quotation. It is a good time to make the big decisions, such as the style of mandap, the reception stage and centrepieces.
Three to four months before
Details are refined and confirmed. Where possible, a site visit at the venue helps confirm layout, access, power and timings. Final colours and quantities are agreed, and samples or mock-ups are reviewed.
The final weeks
- Confirm final guest numbers and table plans.
- Agree set-up and clear-down times with your venue.
- Share the running order so installation fits around the day.
If you have a date in mind, it is never too early to get in touch and check availability.
